If you want to visit the Taft Museum in Cincinnati, then you must visit 316, pike street at the east end of fourth street, across from Lytle park, in downtown Cincinnati. It is known as 'Cincinnati's home for art.' The museum is open Wednesday-Sunday, 11am-5 pm. It s closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, new year's day, independence day, thanksgiving day and on Christmas. The Taft has free parking facility. There is a great museum shop as well as a cafe too. You are not allowed to bring bottles, food or toys into the museum. The museum has an amazing library which has books, archives and research material available for your use. It can be visited only if you have a previous appointment.
The museum also has the Corbett educator resource centre. The museum, which has been functional for the past 75 years, has many exhibitions, collections and programs available for you. You can be the part of a docent led group, or a group tour. For a group dinner, the charges are $26 per person. Each Sunday is a free Sunday at the Taft.
The Taft, which was built in 1820,the museum has European old master and 19th century American paintings, Chinese paintings, Limoges enamels and elegant furniture. The Palladian structure in Taft is the Baum-Longworth-Sinton-Saft House. The virgin and child sculpture from the abbey church of saint-denis is also available here.
