Bus System

Cincinnati is one of the major cities in the U.S. state of Ohio. Cincinnati city is situated at the north of the Ohio River at the Ohio-Kentucky border. There are two transit authorities in Cincinnati, one is SORTA or METRO (Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority) and the other is TANK (Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky).

SORTA, is the bus company that provides its transportation services to the Ohio side of the state line whereas TANK provides it transport services in the routes between Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. People love to travel Cincinnati and its nearby places through these travel system. Both the travel system i.e., TANK and SORTA have there own fare rate system. Only thing that is common in both the system is that, they both ask the passenger to pay the exact amount of fare as no change is given.

TANK serves 27 routes throughout Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky covering suburban areas and provides a cheap fare of $1.25 for adults. Tank services provides an online or telephone route schedule, a park and ride system with 100% disability access.

SORTA, provides its transport within Cincinnati through city buses with designated stops. METRO also provides a service for the handicapped known as ACCESS, METRO uses biodiesel fuel, which is environment friendly. METRO has provided employment to the unemployed by giving them the jobs of drivers and workers in there buses which are around 400 in number and which provide transport in 80 different routes.

Though these bus services do not run as frequently as they should have but still the transportation is impressive in Cincinnati due to lack of trains.
